Mystic Lake

Mystic Lake

Catching a fish is not a priority when fishing in a place like this. Mysteries call this part of land, where waters come and go, home.

Who says that Europe has no jungle? In this place you can find more than one parallel. Here, air is filled with thousands of sounds, colours and stories. It is (sadly) one of rare places, where nature seems to outpower mankind, as the lake waters come and go each year unexpectedly. Although, people have tried to dry out the lake since mid 19.century. Despite all, intermittent lake Cerknica remains heaven for wildlife till this days.

A new life awaits you…a life that you have never seen
Start going away…feel…without going anywhere
It is not a matter of looking only far as the eyes can go
Open your mind…heart…and soul
And when you meet someone…learn listen beyond what words can say
Look into your eyes…and see the immensity of feelings to be shared
When you begin to look more outside, you’ll realize that you’re deeply looking for yourself
Live every moment more intensely… touch…breathe
Know your limits
Overcome your fears
Fly higher
Dream and Believe it
Because the great secret of happiness…is in the details…
And ask yourself …What do you do to feel better?

Our Summer’s Reach

Our Summer’s Reach

In Oregon, we live for the summer. The flowers are in full bloom, the rivers are warm enough to swim, the clouds are parted enough to feel the size of the mountains, and everyone lives outside; enjoying the beauty we wait yearlong to bathe in.
This is my tribute to the memories we gained this summer; one filled with fun and adventure.

Panasonic GH4. 12-35mm Lumix. And a really old tripod.

Riding on horseback for 5 memorable days, we travelled through the majestic back country in Banff National Park, Alberta. My wife and I joined Holiday on Horseback and filmed the journey from the sky. We rode through the Sundance valley and stopped nightly at rustic (unpowered) cabins along the way… The highlight of the journey was an ascent up to Allenby Pass at nearly 8100 feet. I never thought I’d be riding a horse up the side of a mountain and the memory will last a lifetime.

Please follow me if you’re interested in this type of aerial portraiture. There’s more to come shortly.

The best season, the best colors of nature. I just love it. Fall. And all these attractions from my childhood make me a bit sad. Hope you will enjoy this short film.

Slowest shots tested 6D in 50p RAW mode with max resolution 1792×634. Since you upscale mostly vertical resolution footage looks very good in 1080p, but VAF is a must, otherwise alisiang getting too horrible.

Magic Lantern RAW 14bit video.
Graded in Davinci Resolve.
Music by Patrick Watson.

PS: For some reason it looks a bit choppy on some slowerst shots after vimeo conversion. Original footage looks very smooth. Video converted to 720p to fit vimeo’s rules. Please, do not watch it full screen on fullHD monitor.
